Gladie’s 2026 album ‘No Need To Be Lonely‘ is frantic, incredibly fuzzy, and you can’t help but want to hug it. Augusta Koch has mastered the art of making the feverish blur of a mental breakdown feel like a basement party you never want to leave. It’s the kind of record that makes you want to quit your job, buy a van, and then immediately realize you don’t know how to change a tire… but hey, at least the soundtrack for your breakdown, produced by Jeff Rosenstock, is catchy as hell.
The production is delightfully crunchy, hitting that sweet spot between “I recorded this in a garage” and “I am a professional genius.” The lyrics manage to be deeply relatable without being a total bummer, pivoting from internal monologues about loneliness to soaring power-pop hooks that demand you jump around your living room. It’s optimistic in a way that feels earned, like finding a twenty-dollar bill in the pocket of a coat you haven’t worn since a bad breakup. It’s the perfect reminder that even if you’re a mess, you’re a mess with excellent taste.
Though I feel the whole album has it’s moments, three tracks that stood out to me are: “Car Alarm” is a jittery anthem for anyone who has ever felt like they’re blaring in the middle of a strip mall; “I Want That For You” has enough untethered melodic energy to power a small city; and “Future Spring” is the perfect “main character” song for levitating on coffee while navigating the dawn of everything. You can catch these songs live when the band brings their high-energy show to the Cactus Club on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 – Click here for tickets!!
