Trimmo, a brilliant indie outfit out of San Francisco, recently dropped a 16-track behemoth titled ‘Arizona’ that proves you do not actually need to visit the desert to make an album named after it. Released on April 17, 2026, the record is a wonderfully weird cocktail of experimental pop and indie sensibilities that manages to be incredibly captivating without ever taking itself too seriously. All written and recorded by Sean McFarlane under the Trimmo moniker, the album clocks in with a handful of sub-two-minute bursts of energy alongside fully realized indie gems, making for a listening experience that feels like flipping through a chaotic, yet brilliant sonic sketchbook.

Several tracks demand immediate attention, starting with “Jeanie96“, which features some genuinely fantastic guest vocals from Betsy Streeter that elevate the song into a certified standout. Then there is “Brokenhands“, a track that gets an unexpected but entirely welcome injection of cool thanks to some incredibly slick saxophone work courtesy of George Rogers. Finally, the titular track, “Arizona“, completely holds its own, serving as a tight, punchy anchor for the album’s overall experimental charm. Evan Marlow and Zach Sandoval deserve a serious nod for the mixing and mastering here, keeping the audio crisp enough that you can hear every bizarre and beautiful decision McFarlane made in his recording space.

The album ‘Arizona‘ is one hell of a DIY indie album that manages to be incredibly cohesive despite having 16 distinct tracks competing for your attention. If you are looking for an experimental indie pop record that is fresh, slightly eccentric, and creatively playful… pick this album up… you won’t be disappointed. This definitely has that vibe of Alex G, The Microphones, Taylor Vick, or even Fog Lake…. but I totally have this album playing more than those others daily when walking around da Bay View.
