Milwaukee’s Creature Weather has a new music video out now for their song “Phantom Face”!!

Our buddies Tad Jameyfield and John Doyle, who make up the musical duo Creature Weather, have a new music video out now for their song, “Phantom Face.” Directed by Nels Lindquist at I’m Cold Productions.
The music video is a hauntingly beautiful dive into lo-fi aesthetics that feels like a fever dream caught on a discarded film reel. The video is shot on Kodak 16mm film and utilizes a gritty, high-contrast black-and-white palette that perfectly mirrors the track’s raw, indie-rock energy. From the opening frames of the video, the viewer is plunged into a series of distorted, ghostly silhouettes and Milwaukee cityscapes that evoke a sense of nostalgic isolation. The shaky, handheld camerawork and visible film grain give the piece an authentic, “found footage” edge that mainstream high-definition videos simply can’t replicate.
Despite its dark, “phantom-like” visual themes, the performance has a resilient, positive heartbeat. The repetitive, hypnotic lyrics about searching for “heat” and “finding a way” suggest a journey through the cold towards some form of emotional warmth or clarity. The way the light flickers and flares throughout the video feels less like a technical glitch and more like a deliberate representation of a flickering spirit refusing to go out. It’s a masterful exercise in mood-setting that proves you don’t need a massive budget to create something deeply evocative; you just need a camera, some 16mm film, and a vision that isn’t afraid of the shadows.
Check out this kick ass video here. Loved seeing the Avalon and other fun Milwaukee spots throughout.
