If you’ve been feeling like a tiny human scurrying through a city of boring music, Chicago’s own ACCESSORY has arrived to stomp through your speakers. Their debut album, Dust, out now on ACX Records, is a colossal achievement where the celestial meets the molecular, feeling as massive as a Titan emerging from the depths. Much like how bingeing “Monarch: Legacy of Monsters” on Apple TV has totally rekindled my obsession with Godzilla and his kaiju cohorts, ‘Dust‘ provides that same sense of awe and excitement. It’s the perfect sonic appetite whetter while we all count down the days until Godzilla Minus One crashes into theaters this November.
The tracklist is a lean, mean, monster-fighting machine, but three songs specifically stand out as city-levelers. First is “Calcium,” a heavy hitter featuring a pneumatic force of will that hits hard when Balla sings, “I’m gonna hold onto it, I’m gonna hold it for life.“ Then there is the absolute standout “World of Pain,” which captures a beautifully chaotic energy as he belts out, “I’m in a world of pain / I’m in a world of pain, And I’m never coming back again!“ It’s a cathartic anthem that feels like a 300-foot tail swiping across a skyscraper. Finally, “Wherever You Are Tonight” slows things down just enough to survey the wreckage, offering an effervescent atmosphere as he croons, “Let it fall, Out of the blue, Only me and you,” proving ACCESSORY can handle the quiet moments just as well as the atomic breath blasts.
The best part? We don’t have to wait for a movie premiere to feel the ground shake. ACCESSORY is bringing this wall of sound to Milwaukee for an all-ages show at the Cactus Club this Friday, April 24, 2026. They’re sharing the bill with local legends Angelica and Speedy Muffler, making it a triple-threat lineup that would make any monster hunter proud. Doors open at 6:30 pm and you can buy tickets to the show with this link. It’s going to be loud, it’s going to be fun, and unlike a real Godzilla attack, you’ll actually want to be right in the middle of it.
