Look For Your Mind!‘ by The Lemon Twigs is essentially a time machine fueled by glitter and high-waisted trousers, proving that the D’Addario brothers are still the undisputed kings of retro-pop perfection. This album finds the duo leaning into a psychedelic, guitar-driven harmony sound that is so lush it makes the 1960s look like a grainy, black-and-white rehearsal. It’s the kind of record that makes you want to grow out your hair, buy a Rickenbacker, and start a colorful protest against anything that isn’t a major seventh chord; it’s a zesty, disciplined, and thoroughly addictive achievement.

As of right now, four tracks on ‘Look For Your Mind!‘ are absolute necessities for my earholes and have made their way into my little CD mixes I make for my car, starting with the bouncy “2 or 3,” where the brothers build their own wall of sound while singing, “She’s lived 2 or 3 as many lives as me.” Then there is “Bring You Down,” a stomping anthem for the working class that tackles corporate greed with the relatable snarl: “I’ve been working so hard every minute of the doggone day, and my rent’s gone up, and the boss won’t raise my pay.” Moving into ballad territory, “Mean To Me” features falsettos that sound like a lost treasure from 1966, while “I Just Can’t Get Over Losing You” delivers a moptop thrill with ringing guitars and a euphoric climax that sticks in your head for days.

Overall, on this kick ass album, The Lemon Twigs aren’t just mimicking the past, they’re refining it with a vital live energy and a perfect balance between a poppy exterior and an undercurrent of paranoia. The production is crisp enough to keep the power-pop record nerds happy without losing that raw, brothers-in-a-basement charm that makes their music so intimate. If you don’t find yourself humming these melodies within ten seconds of hitting play, you might need to actually “look for your mind” because it’s clearly gone missing. You know. You were struck dumb by a mule kicking you the head, or something like that. This album is a MUST HAVE for 2026, as this is one of the top ten albums of the year already on my list.
